At the Clinton C of E Primary school we greatly value and appreciate the amazing outdoor spaces that we have on our site. The Garden area has been a real focus for development over the last few months. As part of our wider school vision we have been nurturing seeds and young plants, loving the area by weeding, tidying and creating new seating areas and learning all about how to grow and care for different plants well. We have been developing our outside areas and grown a range of fruits and vegetables. With hard work and support from all the children, parents, staff and guests from the community we are really excited about harvesting our crops this autumn in time for our Harvest festival and our community event ‘Clinton Big Soup Share’. Our Eco Committee have helped us to work towards achieving RHS Schools Garden Scheme recognition. We have already achieved Level 4 and throughout the autumn term we will be working hard towards the highest goal of the scheme ‘Level 5’. We have also held a very successful Plant Sale which was organised and run by our Eco Committee. We were delighted with the fundraising donations and we are using the money to support our global companions at EduKid in Uganda. In June 2019 we held our annual Cold Stream Celebration where Lord and Lady Clinton officially opened our newly rejuvenated garden area and the community were able to come and see how the garden is flourishing.
